On June 18-19, 2025, ena Development Consultants, partner of EIT Food Hub Greece, attended the EIT Food South Hubs Meeting, the Ceres Awards 2025, and Founders Day in Bilbao, Spain, strengthening Greece's position on the European map of agri-food and innovation.
The EIT Food Hub Greece was represented by Filio Karambini, Sustainability and Public Sector Development Advisor at ena, and Somalou Paraskevi, Project Manager and PhD candidate at the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics at Democritus University of Thrace.

Ceres Awards 2025
On June 18, 2025, the Ceres Awards 2025 were held at the BAT Tower in Bilbao, a prestigious EIT Food event that honors agricultural innovation and entrepreneurship. With ten award categories, the aim was to recognize the most innovative and active players in the agri-food sector. The Ceres Awards stood out for their dynamism and contribution to highlighting positive examples from across Europe.
Among the categories were Regenerative Agriculture, Excellence in Growth, and Women in Agrifood, confirming the role of EIT Food in promoting sustainable entrepreneurship in the agricultural sector.
As part of the awards, Angeliki Drakou, co-founder of Grizo & Prasino and beneficiary of EIT Food, was distinguished with the Excellence in Growth – Revenue Generator Award.
Founders Day
At the Iberdrola Tower in Bilbao, over 250 entrepreneurs, researchers, investors, and company executives from across Europe gathered to exchange ideas and interact in high-level panels, workshops, and networking sessions.
Participants had the opportunity to:
- Present innovative ideas at the pitch sessions
- Discuss the position of startups and deeptech
- Network with leaders of the agri-food ecosystem
- Gain inspiration from successful European initiatives in the food and technology sectors
The presence of EIT Food Hub Greece in Bilbao was another step towards strengthening collaboration and knowledge dissemination, aiming for the shared progress of the European agri-food ecosystem.
