The Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, a partner of Greece’s first European Digital Innovation Hub in the Agrifood sector, DigiAgriFood, organized on Monday, June 2, 2025, in Xanthi, an informative event titled: "Sustainable Management of Kiwifruit Cultivation – Opportunities and Funding Tools."
The Company ena Development Consultants, Partner, Innovation & Communication Mediator του DigiAgriFood, participated in the event, represented by Dimitris Bardakidisco-Founder & Agrifood Expert of the company. In his presentation, he outlined the modern funding opportunities available in the agrifood sector, highlighting how innovation and the use of digital tools can enhance the productivity and sustainability of agricultural enterprises.
The event was hosted at the Art and Thought Cultural Center – Manos Hadjidakis House, providing an important opportunity for information exchange and dialogue on key issues affecting local producers. Participants had the chance to attend insightful presentations by respected scientists and agrifood professionals:
- Dr. Sotirios Papadopoulos, General Director of Agricultural Economy & Veterinary Services of the Region and Project Manager of DigiAgriFood, presented the Region’s role in promoting innovation in the agrifood sector.
- Dr. Thomas Sotiropoulos, Research Director at the Department of Deciduous Fruit Trees in Naoussa (ELGO – DIMITRA), addressed the critical topic of nutrition and fertilization in kiwifruit cultivation.
- Dr. Thomas Thomidis, Professor of Plant Pathology at the International Hellenic University, analyzed the major diseases affecting kiwifruit, offering practical guidance for timely identification and prevention.
The discussion that followed reflected the participants’ strong interest and the clear need for information, guidance, and support in helping the agricultural sector transition to a sustainable, technology-driven future.
